Spring Tablerunner

I started a spring wallhanging in about April and finished about half of it. I think I will put it away until late next winter since I have a lot of other projects to do for fall and winter. I had a lot of scraps from the wallhanging border and decided to make a tablerunner out of them. The back side is made from some fabric Jenny used to make me a tote bag. She not only gave me the cute bag but all the extra fabric. She knows I love little critters----at least in pictures and fabric. I don't want any live mice, raccoons, etc in my house.

Lilies

My lilies are blooming. Although they are not my favorite flower, I think they are beautiful and their design is unique. I found it amazing that the anthers seem to float on the ends of the stamens and the wind doesn't seem to affect them.

Peach Cobbler

On our way back from NC, we stopped at a large farmer's market near Greensboro and bought some peaches. I made a peach cobbler out of some of them today.

Grandmother's Garden Again

Earlier this summer, I made a quilted Grandmother's Garden picture for my sewing room. When I visited Jenny in June, we found a hand crafted vase at a resale shop. I thought it was cute and since it was only a dollar, I purchased it. I found some unique flowers with beads at Hobby Lobby to put in it. The vase sits on a button organizer near the picture.

Grandmother's Garden Coasters

Before going on vacation last week, I made some coasters for part of a couple of birthday presents. I like the Grandmother's Garden pattern but it takes a lot of hand work. I used copied photos for the center of the coaster. The green and blue coaster was quilted by machine the black one was quilted by hand; the rest of the sewing on both was done by hand.

NC Beach Vacation

We spent the past week at Holden Beach, NC. Relaxed with family, ate too much, did some site seeing and had an overall great time.

Those of you who have flower gardens know how hard it is to stop taking pictures of the beautiful flowers on a sunny day.

Sewing room recycling

About 25 years ago I cross stitched a sign for my sewing room, when we redid the room the hooped sign just didn't fit it. I hated to waste the cross stitching so I added some patchwork and found a garage sale frame for the project.

Layered Finger Jello

For the 4th of July I made some layered finger jello. It took a little time, but I liked the result (even though I don't particularly like jello).
