Happy Birthday Cheryl

Today is my friend Cheryl's birthday. She decorates her kitchen with a rooster theme, so for her birthday I made her a rooster wall hanging.

My large stash came in useful when I made the rooster.

The back is a fun rooster print.

I also made a pair of matching hot pads for Cheryl.

Religious Medal Bracelet

A few years ago, my sister-in-law, Chris, admired a religious medal bracelet that one of my son's friends was wearing. Jeff's friend was originally from Brazil and that was where she had gotten her bracelet. The bracelet had dozens of medals on it. Chris mentioned the bracelet a few times and tried unsuccessfully to buy one. I thought I could make one and proceeded to buy religious medals on Ebay. I then lost interest in the project. Chris just turned 50 and her husband had a birthday party for her on Saturday. I remembered the unfinished bracelet and finished it for her gift.

In this photo, Chris is admiring the quilt her mom (looking over Chris' shoulder) made for her. Chris' mom hand-quilted the beautiful blue and yellow quilt.
PS To all my English teacher friends, I did check Mr. Google and he said I could use Chris' or Chris's and that either was correct as long as I was consistent. Whenever I write on my blog I worry about my grammar and spelling, so please forgive my mistakes.

Jenny's Happy Plaid

Some of my readers have met my daughter, Jenny. She is also a quilter. I borrowed one of the photos of her latest projects. It's it just gorgeous. Of course, I'm biased and love bright happy colors.

You can see more photos of this quilt and other's Jenny has made at her blog.

Valentine Coasters

I put a tea bag and coaster in my Valentines for my friends.

I used the decorative stitches on my sewing machine to make crazy quilt hearts on the tops of the coasters.

Happy Valentine's Day

I found this cute ladybug when shopping for groceries. Hopefully I can keep the rose alive until the weather is warm enough to plant it outside. Happy Valentines Day :)
