Wednesday, the Millington Quilt Club had a sewing sleepover. Linda and I went for the day on Wednesday but we didn't spend the night. Most of the members who participated stayed until Thursday after lunch. The sleepover is a great way to get to know the other members better. I was able to pick up a lot of new ideas. The food committee came up with a yummy lunch and supper.
At our last meeting, Eileen demonstrated how to do scrappy string quilts. I've been noticing string quilts on a some of the blogs I read too. That's what I decided to try at the sleepover. This is going to be the back of a table runner.
To use up some of the smaller scraps that were leftover, I sewed them together and made the backs for a pair of hot pads.

Looking good and very colorful!
It's going to be great. And it is fun to have extended time with friends like that. I do prefer still sleeping in my own bed. With my 2 retreats this month I only have to be away from home at one of the retreats but I love that hotel so it is ok.
